*Highly recommended for shrimp tanks to keep baby shrimp from getting sucked into the filter and for fish breeders with tiny fish so they do not also get sucked into the filter. These intake covers can also be used to slow the water flow down if you have too much water flow in your tank. 

*Make sure this intake cover will fit your filter, it can stretch and be pulled over larger filter intakes but if your intake is massive you’ll end up ripping/destroying the sponge.
